Adventure Scientists (2020), ICOMOS – Haiti (2010)
Cristi’s Experience: Early in 2021, I completed a GIS needs assessment for Adventure Scientists, a non profit organization that recruits outdoor adventurers as volunteers to gather the data that scientists need to address critical challenges to the environment and human health. I evaluated the organization’s current GIS ecosystem including its software, hardware, databases, applications, and current skill set. I documented the GIS needs of the organization and provided recommendations.
In 2010, I assisted ICOMOS, an international non-governmental organization of professionals dedicated to the conservation of the world’s historic monuments and sites. I created a map document of over 150 historic sites in Haiti and provided a smart pdf map to the ICOMOS team prior to their departure to Haiti to assess earthquake damage.
