This GISCorps mission working with Babanango Game Reserve in South Africa was an unforgettable experience. As a GIS professional with a field biology/conservation background, I often find myself itching to get back to those fieldwork roots and apply GIS expertise to the amazing and important work being done on the ground for habitat and wildlife conservation. This project allowed me to help an organization improve their ability to more readily collect and respond to, and I am SO grateful for the opportunity! This was my first experience with the GISCorps and I’m sure it wont be the last.
